1. Assistant Surgeon (General MBBS) : 911
2. Assistant Surgeon (Speciality) : 1078 
3. Assistant Surgeon (Dental) (General-BDS) : 85

Age Limit: Candidates Age must be 35 years for Assistant Surgeon (General & Speciality) 30 as on 01-07-2012. No. Age limit for SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC&DCs, BCs, BCM.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess MBBS Degree, PG Degree / Diploma in the concerned specialty and Super Specialty, BDS/MDS Degree for Tamilanadu Medical Board Recruitment.

Examination Fee: Rs. 700/- (Including cost of Registration and Examination) be paid by all the candidates (excluding SC/ST candidates). SC/ST candidates have to pay 350. In addition, candidates have to pay the service charges applicable to Indian Bank over and mandatory fees. The charge for the same will be about Rs. 15.
